US actress Jessica Chastain is set to join the jury of 2017 Cannes Film Festival in France.
The festival chief Thierry Fremaux disclosed the news to a French radio station on Friday morning, adding, “For the 70th anniversary, there are people who are part of the history of the festival, or who have been discovered by the festival, and who we want to have near us,” without revealing any of other members of the jury.
The actress and producer Chastain played in 2011 Palme d’Or winner 'Tree of Life'.
Presided by Spanish writer-director Pedro Almodóvar, this year’s fest runs from May 17-28.
Fremaux is expected in coming days to unveil the full jury lineup, a media report says.
